Our dog training classes take place both indoors and outdoors, with the venue determined by prevailing weather conditions. Upon sign up and payment of fees, you are invited to attend as many sessions per week as you desire, with the exception of private classes and virtual classes.

Classes
A variety of classes to suit dogs at different skill levels.
Live Oak Dog Obedience Utah offers a comprehensive range of dog training classes designed to meet the needs of dogs and their owners in the Salt Lake City area. With over 40 years of experience, owner Jan Perkins and her team provide expert instruction in various training disciplines.

Puppy Obedience
This class is for puppies 9 weeks to 16 weeks that have had at least one vaccination. We will be working on behavior, manners and beginning on obedience. If you are coming to this class for the first time, please watch our introductory video.
Beginning Novice Class
This class is for dogs 4 months and older. We will be working on obedience, manners and behavior in this class. If you are coming to this class for the first time, please watch our introductory video.
Intermediate Class
This class bridges your dog from Beginning Novice to the Advance Class. We start them on distance and independent thinking so that they learn to correct themselves.
Advanced Training
This class is for dogs that have completed the Intermediate class. We will be working on off leash and distance work. Challenging our dogs in many different areas and training for total attention on the owner. This class never stops challenging your dogs intelligence.
Agility
Agility is a fun class for both owner and dog. These classes help with confidence building and also coordination and control. All dogs must attend one obedience class before coming to this class. Treats are welcome.
Rally
This is a fun way to learn obedience training. To come to this class your dog must have a basic understanding of walking, sits and downs as a per-requsit for this class.
E-collars
This class show you the correct and humane way of using an e-collar. This tool is a must for hiking in the mountains and reinforcing commands and behaviors that are desired. You can bring your own e-collars or we have most of the styles of Dogtra E-collars for all sizes of dogs available for sale at the training facility.
Walk and Train
This class is for all dogs in the Intermediate and Advance Class. Teaching dog manners while shopping is what we will be working on.
Service Dog Training
This class will train your dog with basic Service Dog and Therapy dog exercises in the real world. Training your dog as a Service Dog is a good idea to teach all dogs, since there are no guarantees in life plus it gives your dog a job. I will only certify dogs that are actually service dogs with a prescription from your doctor.
Tracking
This class is for all dogs in the Intermediate and Advance Class. Tracking not only provides good exercise for both handler and dog, it provides high mental stimulation for dogs.
